Chaim Moshe Steinmetz

Primary Therapist

Chaim is a LISW and graduated from Daemen College with a Masters in Social Work. He is trained and experienced in multiple cutting-edge modalities that address trauma and addiction, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Trauma Informed Stabilization Treatment (TIST), Emotional Freedom Techniques, and Energy Psychology. Chaim believes that clients can only experience real change when they are fully understood, respected, and accepted. Believing that clients - not therapists - are the main experts on themselves, he utilizes his up-beat, energetic style as he works to empower his clients to work on the issues most important to their lives.

"One of the primary goals of addiction treatment is for clients to be able to transform the cycle of shame and self-loathing into one of self-compassion and empathy for the suffering that underlies their addiction, and finally overcome it. When a client recognizes and experiences this truth, they have effectively neutralized the addiction’s grip over them."

Chris Lauretig

Group Facilitator -Therapy and Life Skills

Chris Lauretig is an author, life-coach, educator and a lifetime resident of Cleveland. After graduating from Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio with a degree in Political Science and a Minor in Philosophy, Chris was certified as a Special Education Intervention Specialist from Cleveland State University. During his work with students with Emotional Disabilities in a special educational system, Chris gradually co-developed the now popular “Out of the MATRIX” program -its premise being that people suffer from behavioral challenges in large part due to a negative and distorted self image.

Chris joins Prosperity Haven regularly to present his multi-step program. In this process, he plainly reveals a common belief many stay “trapped” in - described as “The MATRIX”, in which the world misleads us that what we really want & the reasons for our upsets exist outside of us. Due to this, very few people find what they truly want: a life of peace, love, joy, and self-worth. Instead, looking for it where it isn’t, and blaming others.

Out of the MATRIX demonstrates that happiness comes from choosing to be happy within, and shows how to take full responsibility to become “inner-directed” rather than “outer-directed”. Based on an empowered self-image,they get in touch with the limiting beliefs -the “MATRIX- they hold about themselves that generated the fearful feelings and resulting behaviors, and find true freedom and power -out of the "MATRIX" of the pain, guilt and fear they thought was life, and to a life with peace of mind, love and joy. Using a high tech audio visual presentation that includes fun cognitive exercises and popular movie clips, as the basis of workshops and practice sessions, “OotM” brings home the concept that “You” are responsible for “Your” feelings and life, and participants make tremendous strides once they understand how they can take control of their feelings and their lives.

Jolié has been in enduring recovery herself for over 13 years and uses the tools that recovery has opened up for her to inspire and heal others in the recovery world and beyond.

Don't ask why the addiction, ask why the pain. To understand people's pain, you have to understand their lives. In other words, addiction is a normal response to trauma. (— Dr. Gabor Mate)
