If you are reading this information, you or someone you love likely has a Xanax addiction issue. If that is the case, it’s very unfortunate that you are having to go through whatever it is that’s hurting you. With that said, it’s a positive sign that you are looking for information.

Based on the article headline, we assume you are interested in finding information about outpatient treatment. Before we get started, we want to impress upon that residential or inpatient treatment is a better treatment option. If provides clients with a safe living environment where they can work on their addictions issues without interference for the hassles of day to day life.

With that being said, you might not be able or willing to go through an inpatient treatment program. Through our years of experience, we have come to recognize that each prospective client is a unique individual who is living with a unique set of circumstances. Some people can’t or won’t commit to inpatient treatment for lots of viable reasons, including:

  • Inability to afford the cost of residential treatment
  • Can’t get enough time off from work or school
  • Have the primary responsibility for the care of children or elderly parents
  • Have other personal issues that restrict the amount of time that can be devoted to treatment

If your mind is set on getting outpatient treatment in your area, we will be happy to answer your questions and address your concerns about outpatient treatment.

What Kind of Outpatient Programs Near Me Should I Look At For Xanax Addiction?

When you begin your search for the right outpatient treatment option, you will need to answer questions regarding your addiction. Rehab intake administrators will need to know what substance or substances you are abusing, the length of time you have been abusing your drug of choice, and the frequency and amount of your drug abuse.

Using this information as a guideline, they will be able to recommend the proper outpatient option. The proper outpatient program will be the one that offers you the care you need in the least restrictive way possible.

As for kinds of outpatient programs, most rehabs offer three options: Partial Hospitalization (PHP), Intensive Outpatient (IOP), and standard Outpatient (OP).

The primary characteristic that differentiates these three options in the amount of time and effort the client will have to commit to the treatment process. Keep in mind that clients will be allowed to live at home during treatment. Their prescribed treatment program will dictate when they need to come in for therapy.

PHP is the most restrictive option. Clients will need to spend at least five days a week in the rehab facility. Each day, they might have to spend as many as eight hours a day attending therapy sessions (individual and group) and workshops. This will need to continue until the client has established a strong foundation of sobriety.

The next least restrictive outpatient treatment option would be IOP. With this option, clients will need to spend at least three days a week in the rehab facility. Each day, they might have to spend as many as six hours a day attending therapy sessions (intensive individual therapy) and workshops.

The least restrictive outpatient option is OP. Rehabs provide this option for clients who have moderate addiction issues, yet seem to have good control over their lives. OP is also used as a maintenance option for clients who have already completed treatment. With this option, clients will only report for therapy a day or two a week for no more than two hours a session.

Once a client begins outpatient treatment, they will need to abide by three very important rules:

  • Zero tolerance for drug or alcohol use. Testing will take place
  • Must show up for all appointments on time
  • Must show steady progress towards recovery

As long as clients follow these rules, they will be permitted to remain in outpatient treatment for the duration. If they don’t follow the rules, they might get a request to submit to inpatient treatment or be released from the program.
